Daredevil: Born Again S2E1

And we're back!

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again dropped and the first episode honestly didn't disappoint.
We got a new suit, Karen Page trains alongside Matt, and I still faithfully search for my ex in the backdrop of this NYC setting (I miss you T!).
Let's dive in!

The episode is called The Northern Star. This is the name of the ship Mayor Fisk has been using to transport weapons into the city.
It's infiltrated by Matt Murdock, wearing a brand new black suit with the red "DD" on the chest.
Solo, he discovers the weapons and sinks the ship. He returns without a scratch to Karen Page!
Who seems to have been undergoing some very intense training (teach her how to fight, too, fellas).
I'm excited to see what the two of them do together.

Kingpin Fisk meets with his council, and they pin (no pin intended, hey...) the sunken ship on Daredevil and Karen Page?
This is important because only Karen's actual identity is known, and I'm honestly not even sure how.
Anyway, back in Fisk's office, government officials tell Fisk that there will be oversight from the government from here on out.
And one of the men gets a phone call from a "Mrs. DeFontaine", otherwise known as Val DeFontaine, government baddie returning to the MCU.
They're also joined by a "Mr. Charles", who later has dinner with Fisk and his wife Vanessa to discuss efforts to clean up the cargo incident.

Heather returns as the now-corrupt Director of Mental Health, psycho-analyzing (with a pencil!) The Swordsman as he awaits trial.
She's haunted by the ghost of Muse from the last season, and everytime his ghost appears, the camera does this tilt.
It's almost as if she starts to lose her grip and we see it visually, and I wonder if at any point this season, that camera is gonna tilt into a full 180.

Howell (the corrupt cop) is still alive, unfortunately.
And still brutally corrupt, as he tortures one of the captain's of The Northern Star.

At the end of the episode, we get a very badass scene to kick off this Season.
Cherry's apartment is infiltrated by the AVTF (Anti-Vigilante Task Force) and Matt shows up just in time.
Cheery has taken a few punches, and his heart begins to beat rapidly. This distracts Matt, who's overwhelmed by the AVTF.
Then boom! Three bullets are fired into the apartment, killing all of the remaining officers (one shot was a collateral) just as they take Matt's mask off to reveal his identity.
The episode ends with a knife boomeranging through the apartment, and landing in front of Matt.
On the knife was a bullseye and the words "You're Welcome"

Like I said, this episode did not disappoint.
See you next week.

You reached the end, thanks for reading.
