Bus Fare 2, December 06
Dakarai, December 06, 2025 (1w ago)
I take the bus often.
Instinctively, I look out the window as I travel to my destination.
But what's out there?
People laying on the sidewalk.
Friends, enjoying a night out in the city.
Gas stations and fluctuating prices.
I see buses heading back from where I'm going.
Motorcycle shops.
The barber school I tell myself I'm going to call.
Women with minimal clothing and high heels.
A skyline whose light reflects off of the neighboring lake.
It's all so stimulating.
Constantly changing, and unpredictable.
But today, I looked towards the seat in front of me.
And noticed that inside the bus was still.
Constant, almost stable.
There was something anchoring about the experience.
Then, I realized that this life experience is the same way.
We spend so much time admiring the view.
That we realize that the view isn't all there is.
On the contrary, in fact, when we begin to look inward we find an essence
that perhaps was always there.
We find peace. We find love. We find God.
All synonymous with all that is. And all that ever was.
You know?
